LAUNDRY GREYWATER
LAUNDRY GREYWATER

The average washing machine uses 15-20 gallons of water per load of laundry. If a household completes a minimum of five loads of laundry a week, they could end up using more than 5,000 gallons of water per year (enough to support a small citrus tree) on this single task.
Laundry-to-Landscape greywater systems give homeowners the option of diverting wastewater to their landscape, rather than sending it to the sewer. The pressure generated by the washing machine pump pushes the laundry water out to woodchipped basins in the landscape; adjustable irrigation valves help regulate the distribution of greywater throughout the system.
